SUNDAY
I select from a
book of nostalgias
one to which
memories
stick like glue.
A primitive ecstasy
barges in, its head
crawling with crickets.
An ancient bell
bangs against its steeple,
releasing wishes
into the startled air.
Tongues below
caress an edible god.
