Yellow

A woman in gray,
whose son is in
Mexico City but
can't imagine

why, sits on her
veranda and sips
iced tea through
a straw.  A slice

of lemon floating
in the glass of
iced tea insists
on appearing

yellow to anyone
who looks at it.
