GREAT
A great poem
or painting has
the good sense
to totally ignore
its sources (Eliot).
A photo-realistic
rendering in impasto
cannot be slapped
onto the canvas
carelessly. It requires
careful planning
and, in extreme
cases, revision. A
great poem squeaks.
