MINING

Today I dug another
hole in the backyard.
It's the seventh one
this month. Each

hole I did brings
me closer to God
and to the treasure
I hope to one

day unearth in
yesterday's mine
shaft. I'll hide
whatever I find

there in a memory
no one knows about.
